Meeting Minutes for Wednesday,
December 12th, 2007, 5:30 p.m., Stimson Hall
In attendance: Peter Thoits, Jewel McHale, Laura Lepine, Randy Cookson
1. Review of monthly Transfer Station Data.
* RWS / ecoMaine tonnage totals continue to trend lower than previous year.
2. Re-Write of Gray Solid Waste & Recycling Ordinance.
* Jewel continued with review of definitions for re-write of solid waste & recycling ordinance.
* Brian will email the definition of household vs residential in reference to waste.
* Need to revisit the definition of the word "Contractor" in the ordinance.

2. ecomaine Eco Excelence Award Nomination
* Committee to decide on candidate for submission to ecomaine for award.
3. ecomaine scholarship program
* ecomaine Recycling Committee and board of directors have created three scholarships to be awarded for high school students accepted to a college or college students already attending. Scholarships are based on essays submitted to ecomaine.
*ecomaine has sent promtional literature that should be distributed where likely applicants can access it. Committee to review literature and figure out who should receive literature and how.
4. Re-Write of Gray Solid Waste & Recycling Ordinance. (If there's time.)
* Jewel will continue to lead review of definitions for re-write of solid waste & recycling ordinance.
* Need to revisit the definition of the word "Contractor" in the ordinance.
