TOWN COUNCIL RULES AS THEY RELATE TO THIS COMMITTEE:
SECTION 602.26 - Board of Assessment Review
There shall be a Board of Assessment Review consisting of three (3) members and appointed by the Town Council for three (3) year staggered terms. Compensation, if any, to such members shall be determined by the Town Council. Members may be removed for cause after due notice and hearing by the Town Council.
Powers and Duties
The Board of Assessment Review shall have the power to:
1. Review, any complaint of property owners, and revise assessments for the purpose of taxation of real and personal property within the Town limits made by the Town Assessor;
2. Administer oaths;
3. Take testimony;
4. Hold hearings; and
5. Adopt regulations regarding the procedure of assessment review not inconsistent with statutory provisions.
