“Promoting Responsible Growth and Preservation of Our Community”
Meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday, 6:30pm Pennell Complex
We are coming into the last few days of 2010. The Gray Community Economic Development Committee is pleased with the various items we have worked on. Town representatives and CEDC members met with MDOT to review the signage report the CEDC submitted to the council earlier this year. It was a great meeting and MDOT is looking at possible ways to clean up the sign clutter and offered some valuable insite into some other areas and projects. The CEDC also reviewed and approved the proposed "Letter of Agreement" that would create a public/private partnership with Northbrook that would bring 100 new jobs to the park. While TIF agreements and partnerships are sometimes viewed as a negative, the committee spent many hours in review and truly believe this would be good for the town as a whole. The CEDC also held a Monument
Square design charette to kick of the start of a master planning process for the town owned properties in hopes to make them more marketable and at the same time to design in guidelines to protect the properties (and village as a whole) from unwanted types development and encourage development types the residents are in support of. Stay tuned for the next steps in this process.
