Mark D. Grover was elected to the Gray Town Council in June 2008. He is not a member of a political party.
Councilor Grover was born in Maine in 1955 and grew up in North Jay, Brunswick, Freeport and Portland. He received a Bachelor’s degree with Phi Beta Kappa honors from the University of Florida in 1976. He was awarded a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences by Northwestern University in 1982. After a career that took him to Chicago, Los Angeles, northern Virginia and Boston, he moved to Gray in 1996 and works at DeLorme in Yarmouth.
Councilor Grover has served as a Library Trustee and was on the 2002-2004 Comprehensive Plan Update Committee. He has been a call (volunteer) member of Gray Fire-Rescue as an emergency medical responder since moving to Gray. He has been a Trustee of the First Congregational Church of Gray, co-founded the Gray Region Citizen Corps, and has participated in the Cumberland County Central Corridors Coalition since its founding.
