Margaret Hutchins has been a Town Councilor for the Town of Gray since July 2007. She obtained her certificate and Associates degree in Business Management from Andover College as a full time student at night. By day she works for a multi line insurance Agency having her P&C license and has obtained her CISR accreditation. Most of her work experience has been in the management field.
Margaret has lived in Gray for over 30 years with both her children educated through the Gray School system where she volunteered in the classrooms. She is past board member of Gray Little League, past volunteer instructor for the Cumberland County 4-H forums where she taught basket making. Margaret also taught basket classes at her home and presently teaches for Windham Adult Ed and Oxford Recreation Department. She enjoys the distinction of her baskets being exhibited in Colby College’s “Maine Basketry Past to Present”. The exhibit traveled the world for 2 years on display at many museums across the country and abroad.
Presently she serves as liaison for the Public Safety Committee and Solid Waste Committee. Margaret has also served on the house numbering sub-committee and the fire suppression ordinance committee. She is presently Vice Chair on Town Council.
