Town Council Goals
Town Council Goals – FY – 2012
  • Amend or replace the Sign Ordinance (§ 406).
  • Review the town TIF Policy. (CEDC to amend and not rewrite)
  • To staff, support and measure tangible goals for the newly created Office of Economic Development
  • To reduce the number of vacancies on the Town Volunteer Committees by 50% in 2011-2012 over the 48 vacancies listed on June 22,2011. To introduce, expand, advocate "Volunteerism" as an essential community goal.
  • To create and adopt a Town of Gray Economic Development Plan with stated goals, to attract and increase the desired range of residential, corporate and commercial interest in Gray.
  • To partner with MSAD 15 in formalizing "Community Service Opportunities" to support and enhance service learning as a desired outcome of the educational experience.
  • To introduce, support and maintain an annual collaborative goal setting opportunity for the senior professional staff via annual performance reviews. The staff will become active participants in the joint preparation  of their annual performance goals  and in the review of these goals.
  • To update a public assessment of all Town owned properties including a plan to sustain - improve - liquidate -municipal properties.
  • Finalize the Pennell Trust issue, working with the SAD to have it transferred to the Town of Gray.
  • Complete master planning for the Pennell Grounds with the Recreation Department / Recreation Committee
  • Review the Zoning Ordinance to look for and either fix or remove sections that may be unenforceable or simply don't make any sense.
  • Complete outstanding issues identified (as a result of the previously adopted Street Construction Ordinance) such as standards for back lot easements and requirements for street opening permits.
