To Register to Vote: You must (1) be a U.S. citizen; (2) be at least 17 years old; and (3) reside in Maine. You will need to bring photo ID and proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or current utility bill. If you have no proof of residency, you will be asked to sign an affidavit affirming your residency status.
You can register to vote on the day of an election. Voter registration is done at your local Town Office, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, some social service agencies and at voter registration drives.
Absentee Voting: Under Maine’s current law, any registered voter may vote absentee. Registered voters in the Town of Gray may vote absentee in person at the Town Office. Absentee ballots may also be requested by telephone or by submitting an application. Voters may request an application through the Gray Town Office or request an absentee ballot through the State of Maine website at http://www.maine.gov/portal/government/edemocracy/voter_absenteeform.html.
