Schoolhouse Committee Meeting Minutes
May 18, 2009

Present were Committee Secretary & Treasurer Jennifer Dupuis, committee members Christina Kuchinski and Charlena Walker, Council Liaison Mark Grover, and guest Kari Rice.

Meeting was called to order at 6:40 P.M.  April meeting minutes were read with one correction noted:  Under “Brochure” updates the word “work” should have been “word.”  Also, Mark Grover informed committee secretary that meeting minutes should now be forwarded to admin@graymaine.org in order to be posted on the town’s website.

Opening the Schoolhouse in 2009

Pending Doug Webster’s (town building Administrator) approval committee members Charlena Walker, Christina Kuchinski, and Jennifer Dupuis would like to open the schoolhouse to the public in 2009 for a tentative six Saturdays throughout the summer.

Charlena Walker was nominated Volunteer Coordinator.  She will contact prior committee members to ask for their availability to volunteer this summer.  This includes Louise Knapp, Nancy McMinn, Bob Quigley, and Shirley Reed.

It was proposed that a committee member do a quick inspection of the schoolhouse to ensure that no significant changes/damage has been done over the past winter.

It was proposed that the committee members look into National Volunteer Day in the month of June as a further resource for volunteers to assist with the schoolhouse.

The cleaning of the schoolhouse in preparation for a summer opening (pending Doug Webster’s approval) is scheduled for June 20th at 8:00 A.M.
