October 19, 2009
Present: Committee Secretary & Treasurer Jennifer Dupuis, committee members Christina Kuchinski and Charlena Walker, guest Audrey Burns, and Council Liaison Mark Grover
Meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M.
Meeting minutes from September schoolhouse meeting were reviewed with one correction: Mark Grover (not Doug Webster) donated $5.00 toward a gift card for brochure printer, Julie Ann walker.
Treasurer’s report noted that $4.75 was reimbursed to Christina Kuchinski to cover the cost of De-Con purchased for the schoolhouse.
No building assessment has been reported from Doug Webster, Town Building Administrator, as of this date. Jennifer Dupuis will contact Mr. Webster via e-mail with the following queries:
1. Have you assessed the condition of the schoolhouse floor in order to proceed with contractor estimates and a budget proposal for the coming fiscal year?
2. Would it be acceptable for the Chairperson, Jennifer Dupuis, to request two or three estimates in order to proceed?
3. Has Ed Milos, Town Maintenance, covered the noted gaps in the schoolhouse exterior walls to prevent a possible bat re-infestation?
4. The schoolhouse committee would like to proceed with a grant proposal to supplement or pay for the floor repair costs. What work can be done by the committee on this grant proposal?
Two deadlines were noted: The town budget request must be submitted by the end of the year 2009, and the grant application must be submitted by December 1st. The committee members will communicate with one another upon hearing from Doug Webster in order to achieve these deadline goals.
Charlena Walker now has an electronic copy of the schoolhouse brochure.
Audrey Burns would like to become a committee member and plans to submit her application for committee member shortly. Steve Bunker will be contacted by Charlena Walker to ask if he is interested in becoming a committee member as well.
A motion was made and passed that, before electing any new committee members, three committee members present at a schoolhouse meeting or a majority (whichever is less) may constitute a quorum.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:02 P.M. The next schoolhouse meeting will be November 16th at 6:30 P.M. at Stimson Hall.
