Schoolhouse Committee Meeting Minutes
March 15, 2010
Present: Committee Secretary & Treasurer Jennifer Dupuis, committee members Christina Kuchinski, Charlena Walker, and Audrey Burns. Also present was Council Liaison Mark Grover. Meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M.
Meeting minutes from February 15th meeting were read aloud.
Charlena Walker and Audrey Burns were asked to give an update on the grant application status. After much leg work they will begin work on the Collections & Facilities Grant offered by CRIC to non-profit organizations within the state of Maine. This application is due by May 1st, 2010 and will award $500-$5,000 with mtching funds required. Charlena Walker will apprise and discuss the grant application with Doug Webster, Town Building Administrator, as he will need to be the one to submit the final application.
Jennifer Dupuis informed the committee that Bob Hudson and his crew at the Windham Correctional Center are able to provide free labor in completing two of the necessary renovations on the schoolhouse in July or August of the is year. Mr. Hudson will contact Jennifer Dupuis at the end of June to arrange a meeting with Ryan Keith from the Town Office to review the work projects.
Audrey Burns informed the committee that she contacted the potential new member to discover he is not interested in joining the committee.
There will be no meeting in April. There will be a walk-through and modified opening/cleaning of the one-room schoolhouse museum scheduled on May 16th at 2:00 P.M. All are welcome. Some past committee members will be invited to join the work party on the 16th.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:11 P.M. The next schoolhouse meeting will be May 17th at6:30 P.M. at Stimson Hall.
