Meeting Notes
Attendees: Julie Sheets (Chair), Ralph Wink (Vice-Chair), Jeanne Carpentier (Secretary), Jack Goosetrey, Dick Cahill (Town Planner) and John Welch (Council Liaison)

1. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Julie Sheets, Chair.
2. Discussion of letter to Jack Cashman, Commissioner of the Maine Department of Economic Development, requesting his support and assistance resolving the Department of Transportation and M-36 Associates disagreement related to replacing the entrance sign for the NorthBrook Complex. Final edits were made and Julie will send out.
3. Business development updates from Dick Cahill:
a. Village master plan advisory committee – continues to meet and discuss blight and investment. The Village Master Plan committee doesn’t like to call it blight but the state looks at blight as a reason to offer funds. They continue to move forward.
b. Enercon building on route 100 was razed this past week.
c. There was a site request document distributed requesting a 4 – 5 acre lot in an industrial setting for a relatively small manufacturing division of a larger corporation and expected to employ between 25 – 30 people.
d. Southern Maine Economic Development District is being divided into two organizations, one for York County and one for Cumberland County.
e. Ordinance review committee studying wellhead district.
f. Planning board workshops coming up will be discussing condominium developments, findings of fact, public notice and participation, protocols for engineer review and prompting developer/stakeholder collaboration.
g. Town Council – has recommended that fire suppression equipment not be required for new subdivisions and passed a Council Order to that effect.
h. Public safety committee – Plans to complete a review of fire suppression regulations for new subdivisions.
i. Paul White, CEO and the town librarian are terminating their services with the town.
j. A suggestion was made to start the meetings at 6:30 PM instead of 7:00 PM. We will try it for the next meeting.
4. Discussion of website revisions. Committee reviewed the web-site information developed for prospective business inquiries and plans to place the information on the Town of Gray web-site in the next week. Thank you, Julie for all the development work to complete the project!
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM. Next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 21 at Stimson Hall, 6:30 pm.
