Dick Barter was welcomed to the committee by Jeanne and she reviewed the previous meeting notes to bring Dick up to speed on the recent activities of the committee.
Jeanne presented an initial power point presentation format to the committee as a whole for recommendations and comments, which were many.
Peter suggested getting GCTV to put the visual power point presentation directly on Channel 2, so the viewers could see it better.
The committee as a whole spoke to the need to have the website tended to and updated on a regular basis.
Dick Barter suggested checking with the Maine Municipal Association about website policy.
Tracy Sheckel formatted a website policy that could be incorporated into an overall media policy.
George Thebarge offered to assist Jeanne in setting up the power point presentation.
The website manager’s job description was discussed and it was agreed to include that as printed to the town council at the December 15 meeting.
Tracy led a discussion about the Gray New Gloucester Business Association’s desire to merge with the Lakes Region chamber of commerce. Tracy had contacted Walter Hebold, an original founder of the GNGBA, about what the GNGBA should do going forward. A joint meeting of the GNGBA was discussed. Dick suggested proceeding with caution due to the weakness of the group and their outlook on where the group is headed.
It was agreed to invite the GNGBA to the next CEDC meeting on December 16.
George Thebarge discussed his role in working with the Town of Gray on economic development matters and offered to be available to assist the CEDC on its upcoming mission of attracting business development to the Town of Gray.
Meeting adjourned at 8:33 pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
Peter Gellerson
