Minutes

6:30 PM Call to Order.

Present:
Ed Libby,  George TheBarge,  Dick Barter,  Lew Mancini,  Don Hutchings,  Rick  Licht  and  Pete Gellerson

Tom Delaney has resigned from the CEDC .  We have two full time committee vacancies and one alternate vacancy.

Steve and Ron from Sign Concepts met with the CEDC to discuss the proposed “Welcome to Gray” signage to be located at the MTA exit intersection. Importance of high visibility location of the sign was discussed (not to close to route marker signs or stop/go indicator light).
Ron recommended that the usual new sign progression start with hiring a graphic designer versed in sign design to come up with a full graphic and sign composition design and then put that out to bid to multiple qualified sign makers.
Steve agreed to send the CEDC some sign examples of their work with general pricing and material composition so the committee could have a starting reference point.

Dick Barter and Doug Webster are to meet with the owner of Manny Motors to discuss the Exxon sign and to discuss town concerns and goals and to see what Manny’s concerns and business goals maybe n order to find some common ground to work from.

Rick Licht presented a conceptual bubble plan for the Monument Square Master Planning report.
This brought forth considerable thought and discussion on possibilities and issues with an interior road system layout, interior parking, traffic flow and pedestrian access to the site. Stimson Hall and the Little League ball field were discussed as possible obstacles to the conceptual plan but that all options needed to be on the table to discuss. Rick agreed to create two possible concepts for the next meeting, working with and around the discussed issues.
The next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 12th at 6:30 pm in order to discuss and ready the Monument Square report for the Town Council meeting on Jan. 18th.

Meeting Adjourned 8:48 pm.
