Meeting Minutes
August 28, 2006

Attendees: Dean Bennett, Peter Martell, Tim Anketell, , Allison Libby
Absent: Matthew Bourne, Carl Holmquist
Dean welcomed the group, in particular Allison Libby who will be the new counsel liaison to the committee.
The group reviewed the current enterprise account balances. All seem to be trending as expected.
Dean presented the fall recreation department flyer. Several new programs are being offered.
Dean mentioned that he had attended the Crystal Lake Assoc. meeting dinner recently. That group is looking to the town to step up conservation enforcement around the public boat launch. Dean explained that the resources to man the launch are not currently available.
The group discussed the Tobacco free zones and the attempt to create the new no smoking ordinance.
A suggestion was made to see if the changes could be a recreation policy rather than a town ordinance.
The group was in agreement that new signage would be a step in the right direction.
Dean presented maps of a newly proposed sub-division in south Gray ( 40 lots ). Everyone is in agreement that developing some an open space area would be an excellent project for the committee and the town. Dean will be checking with the planning board to find out how Rec and Conservation can get involved in the subdivision/planning board process. Dean will also check other large open sites such as the land off McConkey rd to see who owns these parcels.
Next meeting is scheduled for September 18th 6:00 pm, the group will plan to meet on the 3rd Monday of each month.
