Gray Solid Waste & Recycling Committee
Meeting Agenda for Wednesday,
January 10th, 2007, 5:30 p.m., Stimson Hall

Attendance: Brian Shedlarski, Jewel McHale, Mark Arienti, Pete Thoits, Gary Foster, Laura Lepine (guest)

Review of monthly Transfer Station Data.
- Annual recorded increase in waste going to RWS (ECO Maine) is 0.17%. This is the smallest increase since 2002.
Recycling bins to sell at the Transfer Station. Brian will give a status on shipping options from Rehrig-Pacific in NH.
- No report.
Illegal dumping project: Ramsdell Road report from Randy.
Randy reported that a Ramsdell Road resident reported an incident of illegally dumped trash on that road.
Trash included regular residential trash in bags.
The Gray Code Enforcement Officer was contacted. By opening the trash bags, the CEO was able to identify the owner of the trash. The CEO contacted the owner and instructed them to pick up the trash. After a period of time with no response, the person who reported the dumping brought the trash to the Gray Transfer Station.
The CEO will contact (has contacted) the trash owner.
Brian will follow up with the CEO to find out how the CEO was informed of the incident and what role the CEO might play in other incidents.
Trash Talk articles: Proposed schedule and revisit topics.
Trash Talk articles is something we do well and are beneficial.
We agreed that a bi-weekly schedule of articles is not too aggressive.
