Meeting Minutes for Wednesday,
January 9th, 2007, 5:30 p.m., Stimson Hall
In attendance:Jewel McHale, Brian Shedlarski, Randy Cookson, Pete Thoits
Meeting ended at 7PM.
Review of monthly Transfer Station Data.
Total tonnage to ecomaine is a decrease from past years. An analysis of the years totals will be done to see what changed. PT
ecomaine initiative: Scholarship program and eco-Excellence award.
Peter will write a Trash Talk article for publication to promote the ecomaine scholarship program. (Done, but the paper did not publish it. Will re-submit)
Committee voted to submit Joe DiBattista from Gobeil's Furniture Gallery as a second candidate for the eco-Excellence award. Peter T. will write up an application and submit it. (done)
Solid Waste & Recycling ordinance review and re-write: Committee continued with definitions. We ended the review at the definition of "Rubbish". Brian will look into how "multi-unit housing" is defined in Gray. Also the definition for "Hazardous Waste" should match the definition listed in state documentation.
Open Season!
Earth Day! What should be done! Brian do some planning and will coordinate any committee activities.
Compost bins: Jewel will poll a few gardening organizations to see if there would be enough interest in compost bins for the town to order some for spring sale at the transfer station.
Other stuff I forgot…. I don't know… I'm a terrible note taker.
