Onsite Visit to Cumberland County Dispatch:
Councilors Upham, Foster, and Crane and I will be conducting an onsite visit at the County Regional Communications Center this Friday Sept 22 @ 3pm. Bill Holmes will host our visit and give us a tour.
Statewide Central Voter Registration:
The Secretary of State is currently offering classes for implementation of the statewide central voter registration list. Additional training is being offered for the Accessible Voting Solution, which is a handicap accessible voting machine. I anticipate that we will be receiving absentee ballots for the November 7th election no later than the first of next week. Residents, who have not already registered to vote, may register at town hall or at the polls on Election Day.
Assessor attends Maine Assessors Association Fall Seminar
Helen Taylor attended the annual fall seminar last week, which was held at Spruce Point Inn, Boothbay Harbor.
Tabor Meeting @ Cumberland Valhalla
Councilors Foster and Crane, Helen Taylor and I will be attending an information meeting this Thursday. This is regarding the Tabor initiative, sponsored by MMA.
County Meeting
Councilors Upham and Foster and I will be attending a County Meeting next Thursday evening at the Windham Town Office.
MMA Convention
REMINDER: The deadline for the MMA Registration (lower rate) is September 20th. MMA will be held Wed, Thurs, and Fri at the Augusta Civic Center October 4-6. Usually, Friday is a wrap-up day. The cost is 60$ for one day or 80$ for 2 or 3 days. Skip Crane has already completed his application to attend Wed and Thurs. Pease let me know if you would like to attend this annual event.
