Local Dispatching being performed by Cumberland County:
The Town of Gray joined Cumberland County dispatch service, 12:00 noon, October 27th. The Gray Town Council voted 5-0, at their regular meeting on October 17th, to join the Cumberland County Regional Communications Center (CCRCC), no later than January 15, 2007. The dispatch service became seriously compromised when two full-time dispatchers in Gray found other employment. It was decided that, in the interest of public safety, the move had to be made immediately. The first transitional meeting occurred last Thursday evening. The nine-member committee has identified several areas of services that were previously provided that will continue to be provided and the manner by which we will be able to do so. More information will be made available shortly and posted on our website.
Finance Committee Meeting:
The Finance Committee will meet tomorrow morning at 7:30 am at the Town Office.
ByPass Opening:
The long awaited “ribbon cutting ceremony” signifying the opening of the ByPass will occur this Thursday, November 16th at 12:30 in the afternoon.
Tri-Town County Meeting:
Councilors Upham and Crane and I will be attending a county meeting this Thursday evening at the Windham Town Office at 5:00 p.m.
Annual Recognition Night:
The annual volunteer Awards Banquet will be held this Friday at Spring Meadows at 6:00 p.m.
Cumberland County Budget Advisory Meeting
Cumberland County will hold a budget advisory meeting next Monday evening at 5:00 p.m. at Stimson Hall. The public is welcome to attend.
Holiday Closures:
Just a reminder that all municipal offices will be closed for Thanksgiving and the Day after Thanksgiving.
