Architect/Design Firm – 13 organizations submitted qualifications to complete the architectural and design plans for the complex. 5 firms were interviewed. Lewis & Malm Architecture was selected as the architectural/design firm.
Construction Management – 19 organizations submitted qualifications to serve as the construction manager for the project. 6 firms were interviewed. Zachau Construction was selected as the construction manager.
Facility Information – Design drawings for the 1954 addition prepared by Alanzo Harriman have been located and copies made for use on this project. Environmental survey report commissioned by SAD 51 has been located and copied to serve as the base environmental report.
Environmental Testing – Air Quality Management Systems has completed environmental testing of the facility. Written report due in mid June.
Site Survey – Land Services Inc. has prepared a General Conditions Survey
Tree Inspection – Whitney Tree advises that most of the trees surrounding the complex are in good condition.
Initial Inspection – Design/Construction firms completed initial inspection of the facility. Verbal summary advised:
· The buildings are structurally sound
· Brick is in excellent condition
· Brick mortar is in excellent condition
· Slate roof of the 1876 section is in good shape. Initial recommendation is to repair the existing slate roof.
· Wood trim on the 1876 segment is in poor condition. Recommendation is to replace.
Design Renderings – Alternative renderings will be available in late June
