REPORT OF THE ASSESSOR
At this time I would like to welcome all new home owners to the Town of Gray.
The construction boom for new homes in 2004-2005 continued full swing, as did the transfer of ownership for these and existing homes as well. New single lot land splits and subdivisions were also prevalent, with more pending for next year
Assessing information is available on the Town’s web site www.graymaine.org by clicking on the Tax Assessment Data icon on the lower right. The location has changed with the new web site. Search can still be done by name or address if you do not have the map and lot number available.
The Town received a grant to upgrade our GIS maps to Level 3 alignment with aerial photos and work is nearly complete on this project.
Homestead Exemption and Veterans Exemption applications are available at the Assessor’s Office and will be processed according to eligibility requirements. The deadline for filing is April 1st to be eligible for the 2006-07 fiscal year. Eligibility requirements for the Maine Residents Property Tax and Rent Refund Program have been expanded and the filing deadline has been extended to May 31, 2006.
