ANNUAL REPORT

FISCAL YEAR
The Planning Board activities for the year centered around subdivision review and approval, site plans, gravel pits and public hearings.
Subdivisions
During the course of the year, the Planning Board reviewed fourteen (14) subdivision plans and applications and visited the sites. Those plans included the following:
>>The Gemstone Estate 3 Subdivision on Boulder Drive (8 lots)
>>The Eastfield Estates Subdivision on Yarmouth Road (26 lots)
>>The Vanderputten Subdivision on Legrow Road (6 lots)
>>The Timber Creek Subdivision on Cambell Shore Road (11 lots)
>>The Eagles Nest Subdivision off of Eagles Nest Road (42 lots)
>>The Notched Pond Subdivision off of North Raymond Road (12 lots)
>>The Klimek Minor Subdivision on Totten Road
>>The Fieldstone Estate Subdivision on Yarmouth Road (11 lots)
>>The Forest Lake Road Subdivision off of Forest Lake Road (12 lots)
>>The Grace Woods Subdivision on Lawrence Road (4 lots)
>>The Rivers Edge Subdivision on Rivers Edge Road (15 lots)
>>Megan’s Meadow Subdivision on North Raymond Road (6 lots)
>>Jessica Way Subdivision on Northern Oaks Drive (4 lots)
>>Morgan Drive Subdivision on Ramsdell Road (5 lots)
By the end of the fiscal year, four (4) of the subdivisions have met the standards for approval for a total of forty-five (45) lots.
The ten (10) remaining subdivisions are currently under various stages of review. Those ten (10) subdivisions represent a total of one hundred one (101) new lots.
Site Plans
Site plans reviewed and site visits during the year included:
>>A new 4,500 S.F. retail building at the Gray Plaza
>>A new 4,900 S.F. building for the Gray-New Gloucester Animal Hospital on the Lewiston Road.
>>Recreational trails at the Merrill Farm and Broad Park Loop at Pineland Farms for October Corporation.
>>First Impression Hair Design on Main Street.
>>Men’s hair cutting business at 10 Shaker Road
>>A site plan for the redevelopment of the Copp property on Route 100/Portland Road.
>>A site plan to convert the Mobil Station adjacent to MTA Interchange 63 from a service station to a sandwich shop and convenience store, and
>>A site plan for a new 24’ x 40’ building at Gillies Lumber Company on Yarmouth Road.
Gravel Pits
The Planning Board approved the five year renewal of the S&G pit on Underwitted Road and the approval of an asphalt plant and a rock crusher at the Blue Rock pit on Depot Road.
Public Hearings
Under State law, the Planning Board is required to hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to the zoning ordinance. Also the Planning Board holds public hearings on subdivisions, site plans and gravel pit applications. Consequently, the Board held several public hearings throughout the year.
