Members of Gray Fire-Rescue are just like you. We come from all walks of life from corporate CEO's to students and teachers to entrepreneurs and laborers. We are of all ages from 16 to 75 years old.

Like you, we want to contribute to our community, and we do it by being there when our neighbors are in their most desperate hours. It is good it is rewarding work. And we invite you to join us.

You don't need a special skill or previous experience to join.

We will train you.
Chances are you already have skills that you think are insignificant, but we consider them vital. Whether you have been a homemaker for the past 15 years, or a high school student just starting out, or a contractor with 20 years of construction experience, you have untapped talents and abilities that we desperately need to fulfill our mission of protecting the lives and possessions of our neighbors.

Benefits of being a member of Gray Fire-Rescue.

Making a Contribution: Is there a noble cause than saving the lives, health and personal property of your neighbors in their moments of greatest need? Even when the alarm is silent you will teach kids how to stay safe, assist in community events, and often just lend a helping hand when needed.

Training: You will receive personalized, hands-on training from the finest EMTs and Firefighters in Maine. Plus opportunities for national certification courses in firefighting and emergency medical services, and other emergency services.

Equipment: Every member is issued personal protection clothing paid for by the department, supported by up-to-date fire/ems apparatus, communications gear, and lifesaving equipment.

Self-Respect: You will do things you never imagined you could do, achieve things you never dreamed you were capable of. You will become a member of an elite family of nearly 1.5 million American firefighters and emergency medical technicians.

Compensation: Not only do you enjoy community respect and the exhilaration of making a real difference in people's lives, but you also are paid for the time you spend on an emergency call.
