GRAY TOWN COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING
JULY 10, 2008

Councilors Mark Grover, Margaret Hutchins and Peter Gellerson
Absent: Tracy Scheckel - excused

Others present and speaking: Lewis Mancini and Jim Monroe

First Order of Business:
Item #000-09 To review and act upon selecting an individual for the vacancy of the Gray Town Council until the next regular municipal election.
This action requires a majority vote after an opportunity for public comment.
Councilor Grover moved, Councilor Hutchins seconded
Ordered the Gray Town Council appoints Matthew Sturgis for the vacancy of the Gray Town Council until the next regular municipal election to be held June 9, 2009.
Lewis Mancini – supported the appointment of Matthew Sturgis and strongly urged the Town Council to accept his application. If he had to pick a replacement for his wife, he would not find a better candidate than Mr. Sturgis.
Jim Monroe – inquired about the process. He watched the interview process and did not feel that Mr. Sturgis was a good candidate. He further suggested that the Council wait until the end of the month and try to find other candidates to choose from.
Motion carried – 3 Yes

Councilor Grover moved, Councilor Hutchins seconded
Ordered the Gray Town Council adjourns at 5:45 p.m.
