Sarah Wilson Garrett (31 Dec 1921 - 3 Jun 1998) was the winner of the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. as an eighth grader in 1934. She graduated from Pennell in 1938 and later returned to Washington for a career as an attorney.
