Maine Wildlife Park 2016 Season Opens

The Maine Wildlife Park, located on Route 26 in Gray, will open for the 2016 season at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 15.

A variety of new and returning weekend events are planned for the season, beginning 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, with a special school vacation program “Winter Ecology” with St. Joseph’s College to learn how native Maine wildlife spends the winter.

The following week, celebrate a “Bear Bonanza” on May 7. Later in the season, practice archery, learn about endangered species, meet Donn Fendler from “Lost on a Mountain in Maine”, or enjoy a morning with Wolfe’s Neck Farm. The Bug Man and New England Mineral Association are new events, along with Wind Over Wings, Radical Reactions with Mad Science, and Honeybees featured asSaturday programs. Favorites like the annual open house, Pow Wow, chainsaw artists, Northwoods Law Day and Rick Charette will be back as well.
