Public Notice: Second Reading Proposed Ordinance Changes

Proposed Changes to Chapter 402 Zoning Ordinance and Chapter 403 Shoreland Zoning Ordinance

Notice is hereby given that the Gray Town Council will hold a second reading and public hearing at 7:00 PM on March 15, 2016 at the Henry Pennell Municipal Complex, 24 Main Street, Gray, Maine to receive public comments on proposed amendments to both the Town of Gray Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 402) and Shoreland Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 403).

The amendments to 402 include Article 2 (Definitions), Article 5 (Zoning District Regulations), Article 7 (Performance Standards), and increasing the authority of the Staff Review Committee in Article 10 (Site Plan Review).

Proposed changes also include adding In-Home Office use and revised standards for Accessory Apartments. Amendments to 403 are to adjust the authority of the Zoning Board of Appeals to utilize both a Set-back variance for single family dwellings and a Disability Variance as allowed for in State Statute (30-A M.R.S.A. 4353, Sections 4-A and 4-B).
