Gray Town Elections, State Referendum & Primary Election Information, July 14, 2020

July 14, 2020 is Election Day!  There will be various Town of Gray local elections, a State Referendum and Primary Elections. Any registered voter can vote to elect local and school board officials, pass or fail Town and school budgets, and vote on State referendum questions.  You must be enrolled in either the Democratic or the Republican Party in order to participate in the State Primaries.

  • If you are unenrolled, you may enroll in a Party anytime, including Election Day. Once enrolled in a Party, you must stay enrolled in that Party for at least 3 Months. 
  • If you are already enrolled in a Party (and have been for at least 3 months) and wish to change your enrollment, you must do so at least 15 days prior to the Election Day.  The deadline to change enrollment to a new Party for the July 14th Election was June 29th. 

Election Day - July 14, 2020
The polls will be open at Newbegin Gym located at the Gray Town Municipal Complex, 24 Main Street, Gray ME 04039, on Tuesday, July 14, from 8am-8pm. (instead of the usual 6:00am)

Absentee (Mail-In) Voting is strongly encouraged as an alternative to in-person voting! See informational video below for more information.

Pursuant to instructions from the Governor, each Town will adhere to the CDC Guidelines on Election Day.  To vote in person, you will be required to wear a mask and wait in line.


The Town Hall will be closed at noon on Monday July 13th, for absentee ballot processing and will remain closed on Tuesday, July 14th to accommodate voting at Newbegin Gym.

Absentee Ballots are available here! Registered voters may vote in person or request ballots be mailed. The last day to absentee vote is up to and including election day, but the last day it can be requested to be mailed is July 9, 2020.  The last days to absentee vote in person at the Town Hall, is Monday, July 13th until NOON

Voter Registration
Stop by the Town Hall and register to vote! To register you will need the following: 

  • Proof of Identity (Driver's License)
  • Proof of Residency (Tax bill, vehicle registration, hunting/fishing license, utility bill, etc.)

Mail in or electronic registrations must be received by the Town Hall no later than July 7, 2020. After this date registration must be done in person
