Hill, Luther (1865-1922)

Luther Hill (29 Dec 1865 - 22 Jan 1922) moved to Gray with his mother after the death of his father. He attended Greeley Institute and Shaw’s Business College in Portland. He returned to Gray and worked for the Hancock and Clark Company and became a partner in the Hancock Company when it was reorganized. He bought and ran a meat processing business. He was one of the founders of Gray Cemetery Association and was very active in the social and civic affairs of the town.
