Visit the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray on Saturday, June 3 from 10:00am to 2:00pm to join MDIF&W for a day all about Maine Game Wardens. Meet wardens and their canines, see and learn about the variety of equipment they use on a daily basis in the field and view the ‘Wall of Shame’ poaching display. Some Maine North Woods Law wardens will be on hand as well! The Maine Warden Service Foundation will be selling merchandise where all proceeds go to assist those in our community during times of need.

Several warden authors will also be at the park to autograph their books about the warden service, including John Ford, illustrator & game warden adventures writer of the “Suddenly the Cider Didn’t Taste So Good” series; and Warden Service Chaplain Kate Braestrup, author of several best sellers including ‘Here if you Need Me’. Daren Worcester, whose father-in-law is a retired warden, has written a collection of true stories titles “Open Season: True Stories of the Maine Warden Service”.

Paul Doiron, well known for his game warden Mike Bowditch crime novels (The Poacher's Son series) set here in Maine, will also be on hand. Authors will have limited quantities of their books for sale, or bring your personal copies to be autographed.
