A few hours of your time can go a long way!

If you can spare a few hours each month, and have a vision for Gray’s future, you will be a welcome addition to a Gray Board or Committee.  Several committees have vacant seats awaiting new volunteers willing to add their input.

Here are just a few of the opportunities to offer YOUR strengths to strengthen the Gray Community:

Board of Assessment Review
Review, any complaint of property owners, and revise assessments for the purpose of taxation of real and personal property within the Town limits made by the Town Assessor.

Community Economic Development Committee (CEDC)
The CEDC strives to attract new businesses, and to support existing businesses, through new initiatives, ordinance reviews, zoning recommendations, marketing analysis, and promoting the physical and human assets of the Town. 

Dry Mills Schoolhouse Museum Committee
Help preserve and protect the former one room eighth schoolhouse located at Dry Mills to serve as an educational tool for school children and as a local historical museum.

Finance Committee (opening filled 9/15/2015)
Serves in an advisory capacity to the Gray Town Council for financial matters.

Grange No. 41 Scholarship Fund Committee
This committee is responsible for administering the Grange No. 41 Scholarship Fund for postsecondary education.

Library Board of Trustees
Adopts policy, etc. relating to the operation and planning of the Library and is responsible for managing Library funds.

Planning Board
The Planning Board is responsible for reviewing the approving, when in order, subdivision plans, site plans, conditional uses, and Shoreland Zoning applications in accordance with State Statutes and Town Ordinances. 

Public Safety
The Public Safety Committee works towards developing the necessary plans and recommendations that will achieve improved community safety. 

Recreation & Conservation Committee
This committee advises the Town Council on recreational and public parks matters, such as: programs, policies, development, planning, and leisure time activities.

Recycling Committee
This group promotes waste reduction and recycling throughout the community  and explores new methods for the disposal of solid waste.

Zoning Board of Appeals
The Board of Appeals hears administrative appeals where it is alleged there is an error in any order, requirement, decision, or determination by the Code Enforcement Officer in the enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance.
