Central Maine Power Tree Care Program

Reliable Electricity Services

We live in the most heavily forested state in the nation, and unfortunately, having beautiful trees too close to our electrical wires can be a public safety problem or cause power outages when the wind blows or ice coats the limbs.  That's why CMP works year round to maintain safe clearance around electrical lines.  It's the most effective way to reduce tree-related outages and deliver reliable electrical service.

The CMP Tree Care crews may be conducting tree work in Gray in 2016.  They will prune and remove trees, brush, and other vegetation within public rights of way to ensure safe and reliable electricity service to the community.  To protect the health of trees, CMP hires only qualified contractors who are trained to use techniques sanctioned by the Tree Care Industry Association.

CMP has a licensed arborist on staff dedicated to the Gray community.  If you are interested in consulting with CMP about any of this tree work, please contact arborist, Rob Cotiaux at 647-1018.

In addition, people who live adjacent to public roads have the right to consult with CMP before routine work takes place.  If you would like CMP to consult with you before pruning near your home or business, fill out the online form.  They will contact property owners as requested unless trees cause outages or pose an immediate hazard to public safety or service reliability.  When CMP performs emergency tree work, they will not be able to consult property owners in advance.
