Computer Basics Class at GNG Adult Ed

Intimidated by all of the technology surrounding you?
Conquer your fears and dive into the world of computers FOR FREE!

With a commitment to bridge the digital divide through digital literacy training, OTT Communications is underwriting a GNG Adult Ed course called the Computer Basics Series.

Classes will be held on Wednesdays, 6-8 PM, beginning April 27th, for 6 weeks. Thanks to the OTT support, GNG Adult Ed can offer the classes free of charge to adults of all ages.

The class is designed to be a friendly, informal introduction suited to students who are completely new to computers or have dabbled a little.  Classes will cover topics such as operating systems, web searching, storing files, e-mailing, digital safety etc.

Participants are welcome to join all 4 sessions, or may choose to attend the classes that best suit their needs.  The class will work with PC computers in the lab, but will also discuss the differences with Macs.

Attendees are welcome to bring their own laptop if they’re more comfortable with a device they’re familiar with.  The 6 week program offers sessions on 4 specific topics:

  • Introduction to Computers - April 27th & May 4th (2 weeks)
  • Google and e-mail Basics - May 11th & 18th (2 weeks)
  • Exploring the Internet - May 25th (1 week)
