Special Message from Parks and Recreation

COVID-19 Planning

Good Afternoon,

Like most of you, we have been following the news from the CDC regarding the COVID-19 outbreak that has now reached Maine.  At this point, Gray Recreation is planning to adjust programs and activities to minimize the potential spread of the virus and operate only services deemed essential.

Drop In Programs- Will be cancelled until further notice.

Registration based programs-
Tiny Tee’s Tball Club- Last class is postponed until further notice
Indoor Soccer- Last Session is postponed until further notice
Zumba Gold- Postponed until further notice
Nerf Night- Postponed
Gymnastics- Cancelled until further notice
Broadway for Beginners- Cancelled for 2 weeks, will determine course of action soon

A decision will be made regarding the following programs in the coming days/weeks: Jr. Track, Jr. Lacrosse, Softball League, Mad Science, Tball Skills and Drills Clinic, and April Vacation Camp.

Rentals- Will be cancelled until further notice so we can ensure that the building is properly sanitized to offer our essential services.

As of now (Thursday 3/12), Kids Club will operate as planned .
We already work to create a clean and safe environment on a regular basis, we have decided to add the following protocol to our daily schedule during this time:

All children will wash hands as they arrive to Kids Club

Staff will sanitize surfaces before and after both AM and PM care

Sick children will be kept in staff office to wait for parent pick up

Our hope is to continue running Kids Club as planned, but we need to make families aware that could change at any time.

These decisions were not easy to make and we appreciate your understanding.

Please reach out with any questions.

Sincerely,
Gray Recreation Department
