Upper Marginal Way and Route 100 Improvements

TOWN OF GRAY, MAINE  

PROJECT: Upper Marginal Way and Route 100 Improvements (MaineDOT WIN 20232.29)  

LOCATION: Intersection of Upper Marginal Way and Route 100, Gray, Maine  

Sealed proposals, addressed to Ms. Deborah Cabana, Town Manager, Town of Gray and endorsed on the outside of the envelope with the name of the Bidder and Project Name will be received at the Gray Town Office, 24 Main St, Gray, ME 04039, until 2:00 PM (prevailing time) on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at which time they will be publicly opened and read. There is a mandatory pre-bid meeting on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 9:00 AM at the office of Gorrill Palmer located at 15 Shaker Road in Gray, Maine.

OUTLINE OF WORK:  The project includes the following major items: 1. Reconstruct approximately 120 feet of Upper Marginal Way to intersect with Route 100; 2. Remove and restore approximately 600 linear feet of asphalt & concrete road; 3. Extend four residential driveways to intersect with Route 100.

Bid Documents for the above named project will be available for review and purchase at the office of Gorrill Palmer on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 12 PM. Purchase price is $75.00 for each set. Such payment will not be refunded. Partial sets will not be issued. Bidders requesting that the Bidding Documents be mailed shall include an additional non-refundable $15 for each set for shipping and handling.

Each Bid must be made upon blank forms provided and must be accompanied by a bid bond at 5% of the bid amount or an official bank check, cashier’s check, certified check, certificate of deposit, or United States postal money order at 5% of the bid amount payable to Town of Gray as a Bid guarantee. A Contract Performance Surety Bond and a Contract Payment Surety Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract price, will be required of the successful Bidder.

This Contract is subject to all applicable Federal Laws. This contract is subject to compliance with the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program requirements as set forth by the Maine Department of Transportation.

All work shall be governed by “State of Maine, Department of Transportation, Standard Specifications, Revision of November 2014", price $10 [$15 by mail], and Standard Details, Revision of November 2014, price $10 [$15 by mail].
