Light Equipment Operator/Truck Driver/Laborer

The Town of Gray is accepting job applications and resumes for a full-time position available for a dependable individual to fill the position of Light Equipment Operator/Truck Driver/Laborer in the Public Works Department. This position requires the individual to operate a class of equipment that is not considered heavy equipment, including, but not limited to: backhoes, trucks, front-end loaders, street sweepers and other equipment. This position is expected to complete various all-season jobs as assigned.

Applicant must have a High School Diploma or GED. This person must be able and willing to work in varying weather and terrain conditions and must be able to work consistently during times other than the normal workday depending on the season. Individual must be able to lift weights above their shoulder more than 50 pounds. Bending and other physical agilities are required to complete the position requirements. Applicant must possess and maintain all vehicle operator licenses and certifications for the equipment being operated including a minimum valid Class B State of Maine Driver’s license.

Selected applicants must pass a background check, routine federal drug and alcohol test and may be required to perform a physical agility test and/or general physical exam.
