The deadline for candidates to return their nomination forms for local elected office was Friday, April 12, 2024. However, those who missed the deadline and wish to declare themselves as a write-in candidate may do so now.

The deadline for declared write-in candidate submissions is 12 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024, and prospective candidates may print and complete this form, then return it to Town Hall by that deadline, or may be completed at the Clerk’s Office. Any declared write-in candidacy submissions received after the April 26 deadline will not be considered.

The available public service positions for the June 11 election include:

  • Gray Town Councilor
  • MSAD 15 School Board of Directors
  • Gray Water District Trustee

To qualify for public office, you:

  • Must be a registered voter of Gray.
  • Must reside in the Town of Gray during term of office.
  • Shall not hold any other compensated Town office or Town employment, except as on-call emergency personnel, during term of office.

Write-in candidates provide an alternative way for voters to choose their local elected officials. By casting a vote for a declared write-in candidate, voters can express their support for someone who may not have had the opportunity to participate in the traditional nomination process. While a declared write-in candidate’s name will not appear on the ballot, the vote for a declared write-in candidate will be counted.
