GENERAL ELECTION & LOCAL REFERENDUM ELECTION INFORMATION - NOVEMBER 3, 2020

On November 3rd, 2020 there will be a be a General Election and a Local Referendum Election.


Election Day - November 3, 2020:
The polls will be open at Newbegin Gym located at the Gray Town Municipal Complex, 24 Main Street, Gray ME 04039, on Tuesday, November 3rd, from 7am-8pm. (instead of the usual 6:00am)


Closures:
The Town Hall will be closed on Tuesday, November 3rd to accommodate voting at Newbegin Gym. 


Absentee Voting/ Ballots:
You can now request an absentee ballot online for November’s Presidential Election, and check the status of your request.

Absentee Voting is strongly encouraged as an alternative to in-person voting! See an informational video HERE for more information.

Pursuant to instructions from the Governor, each Town will adhere to the CDC Guidelines on Election Day.  To vote in person, please wear a mask and wait in line.


Early In-Person Absentee Voting:
Early in-person absentee voting for the November 3rd Election began Monday, October 5th, in Gray!

Gray residents can vote in the Town Clerk’s Office at the Town Hall during normal business hours, which are:

  • Mon-Wed: 8:30AM - 4PM
  • Thu: 8:30AM - 6:30PM
  • Fri: 8:30AM - 12PM

Ballots can be returned via mail or by dropping them off in the ballot box near the front door of Town Hall. Ballots must be returned by 8 p.m. on Election Day. The last day to vote in-person via absentee ballot (with no reason) is Friday, October 30 at 5:00pm.

Voter Registration:
Stop by the Town Hall and register to vote! To register you will need the following: 

  • Proof of Identity (Driver's License)
  • Proof of Residency (Tax bill, vehicle registration, hunting/fishing license, utility bill, etc.)

Mail in or electronic registrations must be received by the Town Hall no later than October 19th. After this date voter registration must be done in person.
