Masks Required at Town Facilities

Town Council Approves Emergency Ordinance
Town Hall

Given the high level of COVID-19 community transmission within Cumberland County, at their October 5 meeting the Gray Town Council approved an emergency ordinance that institutes a mask mandate for all Town properties.

Consistent with Article II Section 14.D. of the Gray Town Charter, and with the Maine CDC and US CDC guidance for indoor public spaces, this mandate requires all visitors to wear a mask in indoor settings to reduce the public risk of COVID and its variants.

Note that masks are NOT required in outdoor settings where physical distancing is possible, including open spaces and ballfields.

The Town Council also directed the Town Manager to provide a remote venue for Council and committee meetings until COVID-19 transmission levels return to a less threatening level as determined by the Council. Going forward, Zoom links will be provided to the public via the Town's website and on meeting agendas.
