Public Notice: First Read of Proposed Amendments to Chapter 403 Shoreland Zoning Ordinance

Notice is hereby given that the Gray Town Council will hold a first reading on March 6, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Henry Pennell Municipal Complex, 24 Main Street, Gray, Maine, to receive public comments on proposed amendments to the Town of Gray Shoreland Zoning Ordinance, (Chapter 403).  The proposed amendments prohibit the following uses for both Medical and Retail Marijuana: cultivation, cultivation facility, dispensary(ies), manufacturing, products, products manufacturing facility, and testing facilities. The proposed changes also prohibit the following uses for Retail Marijuana: distribution, establishments, recreational use, retail stores and/or sales (including paraphernalia) and social clubs. Additionally, the proposed amendments prohibit the gifting of retail marijuana in connection in any way with any lawful transaction under the guise of being a gift or an enhanced consideration for same.  Effective date of proposed amendments will be January 16, 2018.
