Public Works Veteran Jon Powers Selected as Public Works Foreman

Director of Public Works Tim Estes is happy to share that Equipment Operator Jon Powers, a four-year veteran of the Public Works Department, is being promoted to Public Works Foreman.

“Jon’s remarkable dedication and willingness to give an extra hand whenever asked has been demonstrated without going unnoticed,” said Estes. “He has demonstrated great leadership skills while helping me out during my recent tenure as Interim Public Works Director.”

The Public Works Foreman participates in the supervision, scheduling, and coordinating of equipment operators, truck drivers, mechanics, and laborers engaged in street and sidewalk maintenance and construction, among other responsibilities. The Foreman also operates equipment, including backhoes for changing culverts, front-end loaders for loading trucks, and street sweepers.
