Introduction

The Town of Gray is seeking a qualified dealer to provide a community playground for ages 5-12 that could be installed in a 2,000 square foot area (50' x 40').
The dealer will work with the Director of Building and Grounds, Mo Russo and the Parks and Facilities Supervisor, Dean Bennett.

Scope of Work:

The project consists of the design, procurement and installation of the all components of the system. The Town of Gray requires supplier to design a play system that meets or exceeds all current federal CPSC, ASTM, IPEMS, ADA standards for age groups between 5 years of age to 12 years of age.

  • Swings: arched swing set for four, 5" supports and 8' beam. The four seats are to be belt seats with coated chain.
  • Main Structure: Climber structure with an 8 foot height and 7 posts, at least 5 rubber seat landings and a double wide slide with a banking curve. All cables, steel reinforced.
  • Main Structure Attached Components: a lollipop type climber with 5" post, a fish net climber with steel reinforced cables and 5"post, disc bridge with at least 5 discs and 5" post, a chin up bar with wheelchair accessibility and 5" post, a stationary wheelchair accessible hand cycler. 
  • Hand Held Spinner: single 5" pole spinner, separate from main structure

Proposal Content & Format:

  • Cover letter expressing the dealer's interest in working with the Town of Gray, ability to provide the specified equipment and perform the scope of work.
  • An outline of the budget for the project, separate by task. Total bid amount should be clearly visible.

Submission / Selection Criteria:

"This project is partially funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development CDBG program. Federal regulations, including Davis Bacon prevailing wages and Section 3 apply."

Sealed bids shall be received at the Gray Municipal Office until 10am Thursday June 3, 2021 at which time submitted bids shall be publicly opened and read aloud.

The Director of Building and Grounds will be responsible for screening proposals and making a recommendation to the Town Manager and Gray Town Council. 

The Council will make the final decision regarding selection of a dealer. The Towns goal is for the Council to select a preferred bidder at the June 15, 2021 Town Council meeting.
