Subject: Shaker Road Sidewalk and Drainage Improvements

Dear Neighbor:

The Town of Gray has retained Gorrill Palmer to prepare design plans for sidewalk and drainage improvements on Shaker Road, from Main Street to the Chipman’s Farm Stand, and on Gray Park, from Shaker Road to Russel School. The work within this portion of the project includes the following:

  • Construction of approximately 300 feet of new sidewalk on Gray Park.
  • Reconstruction of the existing sidewalk on either side of Shaker Road.
  • Construction of approximately 700 feet of new sidewalk, from the end of the existing sidewalk on the south side of Shaker Road, to the Chipman Farm Stand.
  • Replacement of several drainage structures and pipes in Shaker Road.
  • Replacement of three storm drain outlet pipes on the south-westerly side of Shaker Road.

As part of the preliminary design, Gorrill Palmer has retained Titcomb Associates, of Falmouth Maine, to complete topographic and existing conditions survey of the roadway and drainage system within the project limits described above (refer to the attached map for the project survey limits).

This letter is to notify you that Titcomb Associates will be completing the survey work within the next month. During the survey work, the survey crew may be accessing your property to collect survey data for the project.
