Krista Chappell

Krista Chappell was elected to the Gray Town Council in June 2021. She has been a resident of Gray for over a decade and is proud to call Maine her home. She is committed to seeking opportunities to learn and engage with her community and is eager to hear from all residents.

Krista was the chair of Gray’s 2019-2020 Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee, where she heard and considered a wide range of perspectives that informed the Town’s vision for the next two decades. The Comprehensive Plan was overwhelmingly approved by voters in November 2020. It can be found here.

Today, Krista is a wife and stay-at-home parent to two active children who attend the MSAD 15 school district and frequently participate in Gray Recreational programming. Prior to becoming a stay-at-home parent, Krista worked in web content and advertising at L.L.Bean. She has over 20 years of professional experience, particularly in project/program management and strategic planning. Before her role at L.L.Bean, Krista worked at the Boston Foundation to develop diverse partnerships with nonprofit and civic leaders, building unique community programs and services. She also analyzed and approved the distribution of unrestricted funds to agencies serving a variety of community needs. She holds a B.S. in English, magna cum laude, from Northeastern University.

Krista was born and raised in Florida, but is grateful to share her husband’s home state of Maine with her children. In her free time, Krista enjoys gardening, movies, nature, walks in the neighborhood, and exploring new adventures with her family.
