In Recognition For: Service to the Town of Gray

Patricia Brown Mundy (24 Nov 1936 - 20 Apr 2004) was from Aroostook County and moved to Gray with her family when she was eight.  She graduated from Pennell Institute in 1955; married William Mundy in 1958; and raised five children.  She co-founded The Gray News and served as its Editor from 1971 to 1977.  Patricia obtained her bachelor's degree in Business in 1977 and co-founded All Points Travel in Windham, where she was President for over 27 years.  Patricia was an advocate for equal rights and access for women, especially in regards to girls' sports in the GNG school system.  She also founded the Girls Little League Softball organization in Gray.  She served on the SAD 15 School Board in the early-1970s and later was on the Town's Zoning Board of Appeals.  Patricia was elected to the Town Council and from 1981-1983, she served as the Council Chairperson. She was the first woman to hold this honor in Gray's 200+ year history.
