Stimson, Captain Theophilis (1796-1872)

Captain Theophilis Stimson (15 Jun 1796 - 2 Sep 1872) and his brother Woodbury were iron workers and they made farm implements and edged tools.
Captain Stimson was active in town affairs and the state militia. He was a representative to the legislature in 1842-1844. In the mid 1850’s he bought the tavern at Gray Corner and ran it for a number of years. He operated a blacksmiths shop from 1840’s to 1860’s.
